Great idea, but doesn't work whatsoever. Scan error is gone, but now training splats crashes the app on my galaxy S10. Sucks. Simple mesh option works, slow, and makes horrible meshes with holes and weird geometry. I'm sad I have to give this 1⭐. I lost my faith in this app. :/

great for scanning in objects, without lidar it often loses track for larger stuff

it's a good app, but you need a good phone to use it. I needed to buy a phone cooler in order to use it on my somewhat new phone to keep it from overheating and crashing, and it doesn't do this with any other app. other than that, it's really good.

Scaniverse is one of the best 3D scanning apps available that works without requiring a network connection. However, there seems to be a bug with exporting models. When attempting to export in GLB format, an error message appears stating, "There was an error preparing your scan to be uploaded." Additionally, exporting in OBJ format results in empty models. Once these issues are resolved, this app has the potential to be an incredibly useful tool for scanning objects into 3D!

Works really well with gaussian splatting, provided you have a lot of data. One scan I rendered out an found it didn't pick up nearly anything in a place where I only covered once, and it'd be nice if I could add data to an existing scan somehow without redoeng it entirely. Processing is fast enough that the scene didn't change in that time.

Amazing concept but dire in practice. The app never loads properly when I try to sign in and the app on the Quest 3 constantly tells me there's a server error and clicking the triggers doesn't take me into any of the location 'crystals'. Would love to be able to record and upload my own scenes.

What a dismal experience. So, tell me when does this app not crash? when does it actually stay open long enough to do anything? crash crash crash so no idea what it can do

While the mesh and SPLAT quality is limited I love the AR visualization option. It would be great if the app would show me when motion blur is affecting my scan or areas that do not have high image feature density so I would know which areas of the scene can not be properly scanned and need improvement

The best 3D scanning app I've found. No account necessary, no subscription, and the Gaussian splats look very nice indeed. The only complaint one might have is that Niantic is known to use submitted data to train AI models (perhaps generative ones), but that should only apply if you post it.
